Closing in on Kickoff!

It's a busy weekend in Alexandria -- and 40 Days for Life Alexandria is no exception! Jonathan is teaching a class on Pro-Life Persuasion in Annandale, and Mary Ellen, Paul, and Marie are attending Fr. Ted's talk in Springfield! Then Jacinta and a team of volunteers have signups at St. Mary Church Saturday evening and all day Sunday. Don't forget to say hi if you see our table there! Finally Paul is doing Pre-Campaign Outreach in Old Town on Sunday afternoon. Yes, it's a full weekend for sure!

Looking ahead to our last week before kickoff, we are offering two sidewalk counseling classes on Tuesday morning and Friday evening (see web page for details). Unfortunately, only a few people are registered to attend -- and unless there are at least five each day we will have to cancel! Please spread the word about this opportunity, and email Sara at jandsdina@cox.net to sign up before Monday!

We thank the good Lord for regulations approved Thursday for VA abortion facilities to maintain hospital-like standards beginning January 1, 2012. Predicted to close 17 of our 21 facilities, they include procedures for
licensure or license renewal, organization and management, infection prevention, patient care, quality assurance, medical records and reports, disaster preparedness, facility security, functional safety and maintenance, and design and construction.
Let us pray they will spare post-abortive women from infection, lack of care, and emergency maltreatment. The pain of abortion is great enough without additional complications.

We look forward to seeing you at our rally on September 27 at Bishop Ireton High School. Don't forget to bring your candles!
